Woah.
It's been a while.
Between finishing the semester, performing my recital, teaching, beginning a new job and my website being hijacked a lot has happened. I feel more driven than ever to really commit to my path in teaching, get organized and implement consistent policies and standards for myself and my studio. I really can evaluate my own potential now and see the viability in what I've come to build from nothing. The pride that I have is overridden by my ambition to maximize my potential and the potential of my students!
So, this new job is pretty awesome. I am learning a lot! From what I know about being a smart blogger is that publishing information pertaining to a job you want to keep should be done in a space far far away from the internet (I've mostly learned this from Dr. Phil). Therefore, I wont be using this blog to discuss my new formal work commitment. Especially since I know my regional supervisor has already read some of it! (Shout out to AS! if you find your way here again!) I will however say that my NJ (new job) has put me in a position to learn new and amazing things! I am a receptionist for a music lesson centre! It is bringing out sides of me that I have been trying to cultivate slowly overtime at a much quicker pace than I thought possible! How exciting. I feel more confident calling people I don't know, using a DOS system and saying "No" when I mean it. I've also discovered what I suspected the whole time; I really do love people. One of the best things about this NJ is that my reception desk has a stool on the other side and I LOVE getting to know the people that I'm serving.

What else? I've decided to spend the next year working on my grade 8 RCM. This is something that I've definitely let slip - even though I've taken piano lessons for many years including university level piano classes, completing RCM has become a serious goal for me and I'm excited to work with my friend and now teacher Hannah Barstow! Google her, she's pretty special!
I'm sensing that desire to just word-vomit all over this blog post, rest assured this blog is back in action. I hope to be writing every Monday and Thursday to get back into the evolution of my studio and the ramblings in my mind.
Warmly,
